What better way to beat the heat than taking a dip in the water as Nabepero Philippines Inc took this year’s annual company outing to Pacific Resort Cebu in Mactan, Lapu-lapu City. Colleagues wore their beach attires and hats as we embarked on this much-awaited beach trip. The anticipation had been building for weeks and the weather did not disappoint.
Although call time was early, everyone showed up with great enthusiasm and excitement. A much needed break from all the hard work they’ve done. Upon arrival, we were greeted with warmth by the resort staff. There weren’t a lot of guests that day so we basically had most of the place to ourselves. The setting was perfect for a day of relaxation and team bonding. White sand, crystal clear water and a refreshing sea breeze. A little strolling around the resort while chatting over everyone else is settling in.
First activity on the agenda was creating a chant for each team formed. The creativity of each team really stood out as they screamed and sang their chants. Some faces were funny looking because of how passionate they were doing their piece.
Following the chants, we did a Flour Relay challenge and boy, everyone burst out laughing as they watched their teammates’ faces get poured on with flour by one another. It was nice seeing everyone cheering as they played on who gets to fill the flour container more first.
It’s around 10 in the morning and everyone is still pumped to do the games. After the team cleaned-up from the flour relay, we proceeded with the Dragon Tail Chase game. It was brutal yet fun and everyone was into it. They were really “passionate” about winning those SM gift certificates. It was filled with spirited competition and people cheering each other on.
As the sun got higher, it was time to cool off. As they relaxed under the tent, the awarding for this year’s MVPs were given to the people who showed exemplary work and dedication towards their work, although everyone is doing great throughout the whole year. And the winners for the games earlier were announced as well showing each team’s sportsmanship.
Lunchtime was the highlight of the day. Good food, fresh fruits and drinks were served and enjoyed by all as we relaxed under the shade of beach tents. Sharing a meal in such a beautiful setting was a wonderful way to strengthen bonds and enjoy each other’s presence.
The afternoon was dedicated to free time, allowing everyone to unwind as they wished. Some took a dip in the pool, walked by the shore and some just lounged by the poolside enjoying their drinks and chats.
As the day drew to a close, everyone gathered for some group photos – there were candied ones, of course. We left the resort with sun-kissed skin, and a renewed sense of camaraderie and team spirit.
